Origin
Malotira, the Cretan mountain tea, is currently a protected herb that only grows in the Cretan mountains. Its name "Malotira" comes from the combination of the Italian words male (pain) and tirare (pull). For centuries, it has been a medicinal herb for the inhabitants of western Crete against colds, stomach and respiratory problems.
